If you have any worries about starting belly dancing, read this article. A great article with a performer and teacher who tells it like it is.

Hi ladies!

Here is a great belly dance star that has is a true mover and shaker (no pun intended) and has brought our art to new and beautiful areas with her dedication. She is an Arabic girl and has danced around the globe including recently opening the concert at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City NJ for the biggest singing star in the Middle East and the world AMR DIAB! My cousin and her family saw the concert and said Soraya was just breath taking as was Amr Diab. Soraya is a sister in dance that is my true inspirtation. You can check out her awesome web site at:
http://www.bellydancebysoraya.com

Read the article below about Soraya and the huge concert for Egyptian singing superstar Amr Diab from The Press of Atlantic City. Soraya is a dancer that continues to set trends with our dance and has a fairy tale life. God Bless!

THE PRESS OF ATLANTIC CITY, NJ

"CASINO SCENE"

Margate native Soraya will be bringing her belly dancing act to Trump Taj Mahal on Saturday, March 11, in support of Arabic singing star Amr Diab. Soraya, who holds a degree in Anthropology from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, has performed for the late king of Morocco and enjoys bringing cutting edge, professional Egyptian belly dancing to weddings, concerts, corporate theme parties, fund raisers and hotel banquets.

“Showing the general public how great belly dancing can be when done with a strong attention to detail, technique and style is my main focus in life,” says Soraya. “This dance is something that I have been doing since I was 3 years old with my family. I have made it into a very rewarding career and enjoy performing for people that appreciate the art.”

In addition to dancing herself, Soraya also runs an entertainment agency based out of Margate called Soraya’s Mid-East Dance and Music Productions. The agency services professional, cutting edge and authentic ethnic talent.

Where do you belly dance NJ or PA? Thanks for sharing this article about NJ and global bellydancing sensation and belly dance biz jaugernaut Soraya. I love her too, I have some of her DVD's. She is a real belly dance - Raks Sharki inspiration and for the class I teach. Soraya is also a great business woman too which makes her totally BAD ASS. I really admire Soraya's buisness savvy, she created an entertainment empire starting first as a New Jersey and Philadelphia area belly dancer, then with her entertainment agency. She knows how to promote herself and after my recent visit to her site is belly dancing all the way to the bank. Her site rocks, I love to peruse it and see if she added more pictures, video clips or newspaper stories. She is so pretty and her style reminds me of Samia Gamal, Fifi Abdou and Randa Kamal. I recently took a workshop with Randa Kamal in Cairo who is a Dina protege'. Thanks again for this nice post...
