My Backstage Secrets

This is the sight that the audience didn't see at the Egyptian Moonlight Tour show in Torquay. On stage I wore a lovely pair of black suede heels. Off stage I prefered comfort and kept slipping on my pink slippers! Here I am with dancers Raheesha and "the ever so slightly pregnant" Anna.

Egyptian Dance Weekend Follow-up

I am just recovering from my weekend of Egyptian Dance. My feet are raw and every muscle and joint aches, but it was fantastic. I will be making posts about it here, and will create another podcast, but until I have caught up let me just say...it exceeded ALL my expectations!

So, until the next post, feel free to post any questions you might have here (I did workshops in Ghawazee, Saidi & Baladi and Hagla Gypsy...pure magic).

Move Over Tito...Here's Ousama!

I'm afraid Tito (or Mr Yummy as he is quickly becoming known thanks to our podcast) didn't get his visa so he will not be appearing at the Egyptian Moonlight Tour. But never fear! Lubna Emam's brother Ousama will be taking his place.

"Ousama Emam is a teacher and Director of the Kaoumeya Troupe for Egyptian Folklore Dance.

He has represented Egypt in many International Dance Festivals in America, France, Japan, China, and the Arab World just to name a few. Some of the most recent Dance Festivals he has taught in was the Stockholm Belly Dance Festival in Sweden, the Nile Group Festival in Cairo, in Germany at the Stuttgart Festival and the Dusseldorf Festival.

Ousama also has his own dancce group for Folklore dance in Egypt called 'Layali El Sharq' and you can see them perform in boats and Hotels all over Egypt. "

He is a great teacher and has a lot to offer attendees of the workshops, so if you haven't booked your place yet...be quick! (bellywobble.co.uk)
