New Look Belly Dancing Blog
Do you like the new look blog? OK, it's not that different, but definitely less cluttered.
If you look down the right hand side you'll also see some useful links and some belly dancing videos from Google Video - just click on a video and (all being well) it should play in the blog.
Enjoy!

Egyptian Dance Weekend Follow-up
I am just recovering from my weekend of Egyptian Dance. My feet are raw and every muscle and joint aches, but it was fantastic. I will be making posts about it here, and will create another podcast, but until I have caught up let me just say...it exceeded ALL my expectations!
So, until the next post, feel free to post any questions you might have here (I did workshops in Ghawazee, Saidi & Baladi and Hagla Gypsy...pure magic).

Move Over Tito...Here's Ousama!
I'm afraid Tito (or Mr Yummy as he is quickly becoming known thanks to our podcast) didn't get his visa so he will not be appearing at the Egyptian Moonlight Tour. But never fear! Lubna Emam's brother Ousama will be taking his place.
"Ousama Emam is a teacher and Director of the Kaoumeya Troupe for Egyptian Folklore Dance.
He has represented Egypt in many International Dance Festivals in America, France, Japan, China, and the Arab World just to name a few. Some of the most recent Dance Festivals he has taught in was the Stockholm Belly Dance Festival in Sweden, the Nile Group Festival in Cairo, in Germany at the Stuttgart Festival and the Dusseldorf Festival.
Ousama also has his own dancce group for Folklore dance in Egypt called 'Layali El Sharq' and you can see them perform in boats and Hotels all over Egypt. "
He is a great teacher and has a lot to offer attendees of the workshops, so if you haven't booked your place yet...be quick! (bellywobble.co.uk)

Belly Dancing Podcast
I've created a new Belly Dancing podcast!
I've been meaning to start this for some time and then the ideal opportunity arose to kick-start me into action.
The first podcast is an interview with my own belly dance instructor Rosie Mockler and is to help promote the Egyptian Moonlight Tour I have already mentioned in the blog, taking place in Torquay Devon (UK) in two weeks.
However I wanted the information in the podcast to be interesting and valuable to all dancers (not just those in this area of the UK) and so Rosie talks a lot about Egyptian Dance styles, ancient and modern, as well as explaining her own route into performing and teaching.
If you would like to listen to the podcast you can listen online or download the interview at:
http://www.bigcontact.com/bellydancingsecrets (you can also subscribe to the feed by clicking the RSS subscribe button in the right column of this blog).
Or, if you use iTunes, simply search for "belly dancing" or "belly dancing secrets" and subscribe and download it there.
I intend this to be the first of many and will let you know whenever there is a new one, but in the meantime take a listen to my new Belly Dancing Podcast at:
http://www.bigcontact.com/bellydancingsecrets
Bring out your inner goddess!
